Description
Local Youth Councils are youth structures established under the Youth Law, approved in 2019. According to this law, the local youth council must exercise the following competences:
- advises local self-government units on the direction of local youth policies and plans
- assesses the situation of youth and the implementation of youth plans and policies at the local level
- proposes improvements to local youth policies, as well as initiatives that meet the needs of young people in the territory where they operate
- cooperates and exchanges information with the National Youth Council
How do young people perceive their role within these structures?
