Udhëtim i Lirë Association - Liberi di Viaggiare was founded in 2015 and held its first activity on April 22, 2016, International Earth Day. The awareness-raising activity was conducted in cooperation with the Municipality of Durrës and the Regional Education Directorate. It brought together young people, community members and representatives of public and private institutions to clean the beach of Durres.
The first project of the Association is "Active citizens in monitoring and improving local government in the Municipality of Shijak". The focus of this project was good governance at the local level; its implementation took place during 2017, as a subcontractor of the CIVILISC project which was implemented by IDM with EU funds.
During 2017-2018, the first environmental project "Youth Eco Act" was implemented, within which it placed differentiated bins in several high schools and archeological sites of the city of Durrës. The project was supported by the SENiOr - II Operational Grant implemented by REC and funded by the Swedish Embassy.
In 2019-2020 our association developed the project "Youth Guide for Durrës" which was supported by the ReLOaD program, funded by the European Union and implemented by UNDP and the Municipality of Durrës. The project focused on promoting tourism and cultural heritage in the city of Durrës through youth activism.
During 2020-2021, the project "The Invisible ForeWomen" was implemented, which is supported by the Ana Lindh Foundation and co-financed by the European Union. Lead project partner was the Free Travel Association - Liberia di Viaggiare while the project partners were: Association for Developing Voluntary Work Novo Mesto (Slovenia), TEKMED (Turkey), URI MENA (Jordan) and Have A Dream (Egypt). Within the project, marginalized women in 5 partner countries were empowered.
