Description
Youth with disabilities face various forms of discrimination that can lead to their exclusion from society and school. Attitudes towards children with disabilities, as well as the lack of resources to accommodate them, increase the challenges they face in accessing education. While the lack of access to school is a problem, an equally concerning issue is the inability of the education system to provide quality education for youth with disabilities. As a result, they suffer from low self-esteem and lack the skills or knowledge necessary to apply for suitable jobs.
The project "Designing Educational Tools on Green Growth for Youth with Disabilities" brings together 6 partners from 6 countries:
- Partner 1: Mreza za Dozivotno Ucenje, Republic of North Macedonia
- Partner 2: Asociatia Babilon Travel, Romania
- Partner 3: Austrian Association of Inclusive Society, Austria
- Partner 4: Udhëtim i Lirë-Liberi di Viaggiare, Albania
- Partner 5: Perform on Top, Sweden
- Partner 6: Avrasya Yenilikçi Toplum Derneği, Turkey
The objectives of the project are:
- To identify and select content for specific educational curricula for each participating country and create appropriate, engaging curricula for youth, particularly accessible for youth with disabilities.
- To develop special educational materials and tools tailored to the needs of youth with disabilities and encourage schools and teachers to continue developing similar tools for other topics.
- To promote these educational tools as a public good, especially for stakeholders, and integrate them into the educational process as extracurricular activities.
- To promote the concept of a green growth culture in each of the countries and regions.
Through this project, the following outcomes will be developed:
- R1: Development of educational content for suitable educational material for youth with disabilities on topics related to green growth and culture.
- R2: Production of audio materials for youth with visual impairments and special books as educational tools for youth with intellectual disabilities.
- R3: Production of educational films on green growth and culture for each of the participating countries.
- R4: Creation of a smart application for learning developmental materials on AIDS.
The OER project and other tools for green and cultural growth will provide a completely new type of networking in the formal and non-formal education sectors for disadvantaged and marginalized youth groups. This will foster and support the creation of a systematic network of cooperation between civil society, offering opportunities for a growing number of interconnected projects, research studies, courses, and modern transnational modules, as well as new approaches and methodologies in working with this target group.
"Udhëtimi i Lirë-Liberi di viaggiare" is a partner in this international project, which officially started on 03.01.2022.
