Description

The Association "Udhëtim i Lirë - Liberi di Viaggiare" in the framework of the World Youth Day established by the United Nations (United Nations) on August 12, held several activities with young people from Albania, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. At the beginning, they visited the premises of the Multifunctional Youth Center "Udhëtim i Lirë" where they got acquainted with the activities that take place there for young people and met with activists of the association. Afterwards, all the young people held a meeting with the Director of the Directorate of Education, Youth, Culture, Sports and Religious Communities at the premises of the Municipal Council. During the meeting were also representatives of RYCO - Regional Office for Youth Cooperation in the Western Balkans financing this project. During the meeting the young people received information about the situation of youth in Durrës and the plans and projects of the Municipality of Durrës for the future.

This meeting took place in the framework of the project "P.A.C.E - Peace and Conflict Education" supported by RYCO (Regional Office for Youth Cooperation in the Western Balkans) and the European Union. The event takes place as part of the Youth Exchange that is taking place in Albania from 10-15 August by the Association "Udhëtim i Lirë - Liberi di Viaggiare" which is a partner with the Association Youth for Peace project leader (from Bosnia & Herzegovina) and the association Balkans Let's get up! (from Serbia).

The aim of the project is to build the capacity of youth workers and youth associations in the field of peacebuilding and reconciliation for the effective implementation of values for peace education. This project also aims to create a favorable environment where young people from all three partners (Bosnia & Herzegovina, Albania and Serbia) can come together and have a transformative experience for a dialogue and mutual understanding.
